Sure – you've heard of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. You've hummed along to Sherry in the shower, you've spun around the dancefloor to Beggin, but do you know the story behind the songs? The musical JERSEY BOYS delves into the life and times of these four boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi –THE FOUR SEASONS – wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide – all before they were thirty. We've pulled together this mini site to give you a peek into the world of the FOUR SEASONS.
Did you know, for example, that Frankie Valli took his name from country singer Texas Jean Valley, and that she often referred to herself as Frankie's sister? That they are the only group to have a Top 100 Billboard hit in each decade of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s? Or that Frankie Valli continued to drive an old car and live in a housing project until the mid-1960s, when success finally seemed real?
We're starting off with some classic shots from the Australian stage production, a snapshot of what was happening in the early 1960's both in Australia and elsewhere, a timeline of the Four Season's career, a selection of the many cover versions (some good, some bad, and some just downright bizarre!) of the band's music, and some quotes direct from the boys themselves.
We'll be adding new content each month so keep checking back for updates – including brand new video interviews with the Australian cast, a look the FOUR SEASONS' sharp suits and snappy dressing, top facts about the FOUR SEASONS hit songs, and lots more!
